From August 29 to September 3, 2022, fifty-eight architects, teachers, researchers, artists, and architecture students from Grenoble, Turin, and Athens gathered at the Place des Possibles in Saint Laurent en Royans (France). For a week, they took over the place, occupying it, shaking it up, and transforming it, sharing emotions and discoveries.
This video follows the daily lives of six students (ENSA Grenoble / Polytechnic University of Turin / NTU Athens), participants in the summer school in France, of the Architecture School of Commons project. It serves as one of the tools in a broader research protocol proposed by Robinson Rossi (AAU-Cresson), under the coordination of Roberta Ghelli and Thea Manola (AAU-CRESSON, ENSAG-UGA), with the aim of observing and analyzing the immersive and participatory educational experience of the summer school. This video captures the immediate feedback from students during the week: their feelings about the daily organization, the proposed educational activities, group work, and life in a temporary community of 70 people. Between learning and critique, amazement and doubt, the interviewed students share their thoughts day by day and reflect on the joys and challenges of managing such a large community of people in action.
